I have spent a significant part of my working life as a Human Resources practitioner. After graduating, I worked for a medium sized Charity, eventually becoming their Personnel Officer, and gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the University of Westminster along the way. I then moved to Macmillan, a large International Publishing Group, where I ultimately rose to become Group Personnel Director. In the course of my career, I have dealt with a broad spectrum of HR issues, including Industrial and Employee Relations, Recruitment and Retention, Development of High-Potential Employees, a number of Redundancy Programmes and several major Acquisitions and Disposals as well as dealing with the normal nuts and bolts of Employment Law Matters and HR &Payroll Administration.
Several years ago, I took the opportunity to change direction and become Director of Corporate Social Responsibility for the Group. This led, in turn, to a major involvement in the preparation and implementation of a Global Group-wide Anti-Bribery programme.
